Who is DCPG?
DCPG is a home-grown, family-owned/operated photography and design team based in Norfolk & Virginia Beach, VA. When we say family-owned, we mean it – Mendell & Ciesther are married and Lester is Mendell’s brother. The family atmosphere extends to our associates as well. Go to any DCPG job and you will find not just the partners but our siblings, spouses, kids and even parents there working alongside us. There’s nothing better than waking up every day and doing what we love with the ones we love.

Co-owners/partners Mendell, Ciesther & Lester each bring a unique set of skills to the table, allowing us to provide a wide range of services with confidence. Although we have our own areas of expertise, we all work the various types of photography and cross-apply techniques and knowledge with creative and unique results. Cross promotion. Jargon. Synergy!

Expertise: Clean, purpose-driven graphic design, marketing collateral, commercial & architectural photography, portraits & events, R&D, efficiency, finding uber-cool gadgets and software, making sure Cies doesn’t spend too much money
True Story: Self-professed nerd, he’s also a super nice guy who once spent 3 hours at a design client’s house troubleshooting and teaching them how to properly use their PC. He’s also so adamant about great design that he’ll redesign something over and over until he’s happy, even if all the drafts were equally excellent to the rest of us.
Hardcore Strobist, Automotive & Product Photography, Extreme Angles
Expertise: Car and product photography, portraits & events, fine art landscapes and architectural photography, storybook album design, artistic editing and effects
True Story: Lester is the master of secondhand and/or on sale goods. He can find the best deal on literally anything on the internet and is constantly buying/selling stuff like nobody’s business. His lovely wife Arlyn often works for DCPG as well helping corral Photobooth guests.
The Glue and Brains, One-on-one Portraiture (babies & ladies), LIKE A BOSS!
Expertise: fashion/boudoir portraiture, Baby Steps photographer, editing + beauty retouching, album design, crunching numbers, business development – basically, she runs this joint.
True Story: Besides DCPG’s business affairs and photographing Malaya & baby sessions, she bakes cookies and cakes like a crazy person, is a bass guitarist/backup vocalist for local pop band the Astropop 3, and full time mama to her and Mendell’s daughter, Mia, who is so well behaved that we bring her on shoots and meetings.
